Distant Toe Nails
By Phil Evans
There must be a mathematical equation somewhere to the effect that our toes get
further away in relation to passing years
In our youthful days, toenails are easily reached. Just a case of putting one foot up on the bath edge or toilet seat then bending over and start cutting.
In the middle years they are more difficult to get at. To reach them, one has to sit on the bed or on the side of the bath – or even on the toilet-seat lift the left foot across the right knee and perform the operation from that position. Then repeat the action with the other foot.
In later years one performs the same procedure, but it takes twice as long, and you are grateful for any assistance from a partner or specially shaped scissors.
In the latter years, it’s a case of looking in the Yellow Pages under Chiropody.
