Keep it simple

One certain way of reducing the amount of foul language currently to be heard coming from the Senior Citizens of this country (and probably the world) would be for someone to sell a mobile phone that was just that – a mobile phone. Just like the ones we have used, and loved, in our homes for years.

I don’t want to know about text. I don’t want to take photographs. I don’t want to make a video. I don’t want to bump into a lamp-post as I am looking at something on the internet! I don’t want to play games, or use it as an alarm clock.

I want to be able to receive phone calls and make them with the help of a little directory of my friends and relations, and listen to any calls I have missed. Oh, and it would be nice if I could press the required numbers with other than a pointed finger-nail specially manicured for the purpose, and actually be able to read what might be useful to me on the screen.

I don’t want it cheap: I want it simple.
