Friends that I lost touch with a long time ago have now re-entered my life all because of my computer.. Christmas cards would often have a brief note with an e-mail address and a request for me to forward my own. Now, we are regularly exchanging messages and it feels like we talk all the time – which I suppose we do!

In terms of mastering every aspect of working a computer I have a long way to go But I can honestly say that I have found the whole experience of learning the basics far less daunting then I ever imagined it would be.

I think a law should be passed that any one over 55yrs, who doesn't have a computer should be given one. Just give them a chance to keep up with today and what is going on. It’s people like us who benefit the most from computers, e-mail and the internet!

I can only encourage anyone who is worried by saying - if you get the chance, use one! If I can manage to do it, I’m sure YOU can too.

Go for it, you don't know what you are missing.
