Served throughout the Second World War as an inept soldier who never heard a bomb or a bullet while serving in several war zones, but managed to contract T.B. and spend a great deal of time in various Sanatoriums. Through sheer luck became a Regional Sales Manager with a National Company and wrote Radio comedy scripts on the side. Served as a Magistrate for 26 years, and for 30 years worked with his wife as a volunteer at a Childrens' Home. David Willmott

Writer and broadcaster has spent many years with the BBC, starting in Television drama, and going on to become Head of Presentation in Manchester After two secondments in the Middle East he returned to radio as an announcer, and presenter on Radio 4 and on Radio 3 where he presented many Proms and concerts in the Royal Festival Hall His writing has ranged from stories for the under fives to articles for the Lady, The Guardian and countryside magazines.
